Like with spell damage, differences between spellcasters are more pronounced. This has been changed so that spirit contributes to healing effect amounts as well. In the original game, a character’s spirit did not contribute to healing effect amounts per hit, only the number of hits for spells.Differences between spell casters are more significant.Monster intellect has been lowered by 1/6 in compensation. Base spell damage has been lowered in compensation. Thus, as characters gain levels, their magic becomes more potent. Magic damage grows faster from intellect and spirit.Several changes have been made to address this. In the original game, magic became extremely weak and ceased to be a viable strategy by the end of the game. However, the game will still be more difficult using lower tier jobs. This makes all jobs viable even in the end-game.All class attributes have been rescaled at both initial creation and level-up to narrow the gap between the lowest tier jobs and the highest tier jobs.During the course of this project, I’ve become familiar with reading and writing 6502 assembly, and can answer questions as well as hear feedback. Within it are numerous changes to the game which aim at making player choices more meaningful, opening up new strategies, and overall making the game more fun to play.įeel free to leave any feedback here. I have created a patch of the NES game Final Fantasy III.
